Joel Reidenberg
Professor Joel Reidenberg, the Stanley D. and Nikki Waxberg Chair in Law, teaches courses in information technology law, privacy, cybersecurity and intellectual property. Professor Reidenberg founded the law school’s Center on Information Law and Policy and was the inaugural Microsoft Visiting Professor of Information Technology Policy at Princeton University. He has also previously taught at the Universite de Paris-Sorbonne and the Institut d’etudes Politques de Paris. Professor Reidenberg is a member of the American Law Institute and an Advisor to the ALI’s Principles of Law of Data Privacy project. He has served as an expert adviser to the U.S. Congress, the Federal Trade Commission, the European Commission and the World Intellectual Property Organization. At Fordham, Reidenberg previously served as the University’s Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and, prior to his academic career, he was an associate at the law firm Debevoise & Plimpton. Reidenberg is a graduate of Dartmouth College, earned a JD from Columbia University and a PhD in law from the Université de Paris–Sorbonne. He is admitted to the Bars of New York and the District of Columbia.
