This presentation mainly discusses two interesting subjects: securitization and intellectual property. Since David Bowie securitized his copyrights and issued Bowie bonds, intellectual property became a new choice of underlying assets in securitization. Albeit after 2008 financial crisis, intellectual property securitization transactions faded in the global securities markets, it is still worth analyzing it. In this conference, the discussion will focus on the following questions:
- What nature of intellectual property makes it qualified to be securitized?
- What is the basic structure of IP securitization?
- How government reacts this “new trade” in the post-crisis era?
